Instructions on how to measure for single designs on bow loops:
Please decide in advance, which type of bow you would like to customize. Fold your bow, creasing the center as you would and hold it temporarily with a clip. With a pin or clip, mark the CENTER position on the loop (or loops if more than one) where you would like your image to show on the bow – that’s the center point of image. If you don’t have the ribbon cut off the roll yet, go ahead and mark the end of the ribbon tails and unfold your bow. I would suggest adding about an inch to each end to have a bit of a “buffer” zone when cutting. Measure your total length of ribbon for the bow from end to end. Mark the center of ribbon, and then measure from the edge to the center point of image, where the customization will be applied. Make sure to specify if the image is to be placed to the right or left of the center.
Here’s an example (and I will be adding photos to illustrate the steps): I’m folding a 3 inch boutique bow from 7/8” ribbon – four loops, no tails. I’m tying mine from an 18 inch piece of gros-grain (so no measuring there, I know the total length – or measurement 1). I fold and crease my bow, pinning the center temporarily. I fluff my “finished” bow and mark the center of where the image will be with a pin. Then I disassemble the entire bow. I’ll leave a pin in the very center, and measure from the end (either left or right) to the center point of image - where the image will be applied (that’s measurement 2) , and double check by measuring from the center of the bow to the image (measurement 3).
Those are the specifications needed to send in – sounds a bit complicated but is very easy. So, in the above example you would order 18 inches of ribbon – plus 1 inch per side to make sure you have a bit of a safety zone = 20 inches, and you will then multiply by however many bows you’d like to make.
This is the cheapest way to measure your need for personalized ribbon if you’d like to place images on the loops and it will guarantee that you will not be wasting any ribbon, it also assures that the placement is just right if you want more than one image applied.
If you would like ribbon with a continuous design, as seen in the example to the right, simply state the length of ribbon you would like to order.
You can show your school colors, your little Angel's name, cheer on your favorite team, display a mascot, maybe even a logo - the possibilities are almost endless - limited just by size and the choice of colors.
And it's quite affordable, too.
I offer customized, high quality gros grain ribbon in small amounts for just a single bow, or for a larger order such as a cheer leading team. You supply the image, or simply state an idea and I can design a beautiful graphic for you.
See the below images for some examples of what is possible and please see the price chart.
